A car travels with a constant velocity of 45km/hr for 20 seconds. What distance does it cover in this time.

HOLIDAY ASSIGNMENT

  1. A boy cycles continuously through a distance of 1.0km in 5 minutes. Calculate his average speed.
    Solution
    1km = 1000m
    1 minutes =60 seconds
    5 minutes = 5×60 = 300 seconds
    Average speed = distance/time
    1000/300 = 3.33m/s
  2. A car travels with a constant velocity of 45km/hr for 20 seconds. What distance does it cover in this time.
    Solution
    Conversion of units
    Velocity 45km/hr =( 45×1000)/(60×60) = 12.5m/s
    Distance = velocity×time
    12.5×20 = 250m
